Company History
Reliant Electrical was incorporated in 2004 as an electrical contracting business. It is owned and operated locally in Bluffton, South Carolina by Bill Cheatham, a master electrician with over 30 years of electrical experience.
For the first few years of our business we were told by our customers that they appreciated our ability to provide a quick response and a high level of electrical service. As a result we shifted our focus to concentrate on residential and commercial electrical service work. Today Reliant Electrical serves homeowners, businesses and commercial customers with the highest level of professionalism to meet their electrical needs. As a premium electrical service company we strive to exceed your expectations.
We provide appointments and arrive on time. Although we can only guarantee the first appointment of the day we stay in contact and let you know of any changes so you can decide to wait or reschedule. Clean, professional and uniformed technicians are a pleasure to work with. We pay close attention to getting your job done with quality and attention to detail. We leave your home or office as clean or cleaner than we found it.

Owner Credentials
Bill began his training in high school studying electronics after school for two hours. He learned electrical theory and helped repair and maintain electronic devices around Thornwell Orphange where he resided until graduation. After briefly attending college Bill went to work as a electrician's apprentice in Columbia, SC. During this time he worked for two years on the 21 story Banker's Trust tower, which was the tallest building in Columbia at the time.
In 1975 Bill entered the US Navy as an electrician's mate and after several schools and training began working on the carrier based S3-A. This anti-submarine warfare aircraft was brand new and the most electronically advanced the Navy had ever had. Bill developed his troubleshooting skills during this time maintaining electrical, flight control and navigation systems on the plane. He worked the flight deck at times repairing last minute problems so the plane could launch.
Bill came to the Low Country in 1997 and worked for a local electrical contractor mainly doing commercial new construction. After leaving there he worked for an audio/video company doing pre-wires for phone, cable and whole house stereo. He helped install speakers, volume controls and plasma TV's. While working here Bill passed his state master's exam and received his state electrical contacting license. Reliant incorporated in 2004 and remains a strong fully licensed company today.
